Stardust tells the story of a young man who sets off on a journey to recover a fallen star for his true love, only to find the star as a beautiful woman, and witches and the King's sons are also after her.
Based on Neil Gaimen's novel, this fantasy adventure is interesting and light-hearted, but doesn't have the humour and the true loveable factor to make a true classic.
With an exceptional cast which includes several Oscar nominated actors, and zeitgeist stars, this had true potential but in the end there just isn't enough zest to bring it out of a conventional plotline.
O'Toole (Lawrence of Arabia), Pfeiffer (Fabulous Baker Boys), De Niro (Raging Bull) are just some of the names included and all do their ... Read More:

ok, so indiana jones and the kingdom and the kingdom of the crystal skull may not be up there with the likes of schindler's list. it won't win any major awards at the oscars or anything. but it is great fun. in other words, good old fashioned entertainment that should leave you with a great big silly grin after the film's finished.
great performances all the way, harrison ford still as good as ever as indy. but as much fun as this was, please no more. hate to say it, but harrison ford is getting a bit too old and they just about get away with this one. there is too much reliance on cgi and the ending screams close encounters but if you can just switch your brain off for 2 hours and just go with it, you should enjoy it.

******Possible Spoiler******* This film could have been great, or at least very good, but I found it was let down by a juvenile humour and less than great dialogue. If one can overcome the discomfort of a comedy based on the accidental shooting of a child (as a parent this is tough) the plot is great and some of the humour clever and well timed. But in the end, I left the cinema feeling let down. I won't see it again, and would suggest there is better viewing elsewhere.

Ron Perlman is a perfect choice for the role of Hellboy and hes wonderful playing the part. The production of the film is good, the acting is decent, the story is fast paced and i enjoyed the film. However, it is missing something I cant put my finger on. Overall it's an above-average movie, worth a watch but nothing special. I have never read the comic so I came into this film with an open-mind and I found it to be a decent escapism-type film. With the sequel just around the corner I have just watched it again but that is only the second time I have watched this film. Comic-to-film adaptations are always a mixed bag, but this is one I didnt mind watching .... not as good as Batman Begins or 300, but certainly better than the dreadful Superman Returns or the lame Fantastic ... I will generously give this two stars because the production values are high - easy though with a 100 million dollar budget....
The core values, plot, pacing and structure are a mess!
I didn't like the first movie BUT I really enjoyed Dead Mans Chest with it's better and bigger setpieces. This, however, is a dissapointment and it's way, way too long!
What happened to The Kraken? One of the best elements of Dead Mans Chest is dealt with in a couple of sentences and a single VERY brief post-mortem scene. If you really enjoyed the cephalopodical attacks of the previous film then you are going to be very let down here!
It's not as if the film even offers us a better and bigger monster - all you get here is an enormous whirlpool and a 50 foot woman/sea goddess ... Read More:

The Terminator movies were so inherently large scale and cinematic that it seems hard to imagine spinning off the franchise onto the small screen successfully. And yet, that is what they have done here - a combination of good writing, a good cast, and not trying to bend the storyline too much, has paid dividends, making this well worth watching, even if necessarily smaller in scale of production and effects.
Set after the events of Terminator 2, we find Sarah Connors protecting John Connors and preparing him for his role as the future saviour of mankind. The pilot finds them discover another Terminator sent back by future John to protect him, this time a young woman, played by Summer Glau. After her roles in Firefly and 4400 she seems to have that mechanical stare off pat, ... Read More:

I am genuinely stunned by this package; to get this whole box set with 6 discs of extras for under twenty quid is just amazing. I've watched all the extra discs and they're a real insight to the making of the trilogy. Peter Jackson and his team have gone to great effort to create a special edition of LotR for DVD, not just the original release with the cuts put back in.
Be warned though, that there are spoilers in the extra discs so don't watch them first if you don't want to know what happens; they've added a whole lot more that they had to leave out of the original cinematic release.
Of course, the Blu-Ray version will be even better, but apparently it's not due anytime soon.
So get this fantastic bargain now!

I bought this for my wife and was really looking forward to sitting through another great season of Prison break but this is only half the story..! Due to the writers strike in Hollywood this is only a 12 episode set so you only have half the viewing of a normal series. Still the Series is good and the general theme and action moves on well from Season 1 & 2 and has quite a different feel to it. If you are a fan of the series you will really enjoy this and despite it only being half the story I would still recommend it.

a great end to a great trilogy! unlike some it did not dissappoint and stuck to what it does best........... great action, car chases, and great close combat sequences.
