Absolutely horrible movie, watching this film is like torture - i definetly won't be doing it again! The singing by the actors is terrible, the real Abba fans will be cringing at how the hits have been butchered for a lame and pathetic film which lacks no substance whatsoever. The actual concept of a story featuring the songs of Abba is good, however the film feels rushed, and a lack of creativity is evident throughout. Yes the film was a box office smash - the large minority of viewers being old aged pensioners, bored housewives and reluctant husbands, dragged by their dominant wives. Don't believe the hype, this film is rubbish on every level. Don't even get me started on the "sing along" version.

Altough i really do hate musicals but because it was Johnny Depp i coulnt care less what it was i thourght it might alright only because of Depp but it turns out to be such an awsome movie i recomend to ANYONE who likes alot of blood and the singing was amazing in my oppinion its one of the BEST movies i have ever seen its a must see.

I have been trying to remember the first time I saw Walt Disney's "Sleeping Beauty," and I cannot remember if I ever saw it in a theater, caught it on television some time, or never sat down to watch it until it came out on videotape. What I did remember is not being particularly impressed by the movie. Certainly I did not consider it to be a classic Disney animated film like "Bambi" or "Cinderella," which is a way of saying that it was not on my "must have" list of Disney movies. Then I watched this 50th Anniversary Platinum Edition of "Sleeping Beauty" and all I can say is that however I saw this film for the first time it was NOT in this expanded version that has restored the original Super Technirama 70 dimensions of the film. I haven't yet seen the film, and as this blu-ray disk is yet to be released, I can't review that either. That doesn't stop me from being able to write a review here, which strikes me as completely pointless. I'm giving 5 stars as it wouldn't be fair to under-rate it based on the good things I've heard about the film. Amazon, please restrict reviews to customers that have actually purchased and experienced the actual product. i.e: the Blu-ray disk, the quality of the encoding, the sound, the extra features and the packaging, not the film itself! Amen

The sequel to the hyped up musical event of 2006:High School Musical.

When this first came out I did have doubts about it as many had said the first one was annoying and this and that. I had never seen the first one before i saw number 2. I admit to first seeing it as a dare from my immature friends and i actually enjoyed it. It has an ok story line, fun jump about and dance songs and some great lyrics. All of the cast have done a brilliant job on this film. And seriously, if ur one of those people who refuses to watch it cos its uncool or whatever, I did and i think its great. and a great follow up to HSM.

Awesome film, don't miss out.

After accidentally buying 6 copies of this film, I decided I'd watch it until I loved it. It was pure cheese, with precious American teens singing in often nasal voices. On the surface it's something that I would usually hate - but somehow, it drew me in. This isn't to say that the plot was thrilling, well written, or easily defined as a plot at all - but it was enough to keep me in my seat and entertained well enough. Even though this isn't a shining review - I would recommend watching it if it's available to borrow - but not worth buying perhaps.

Having given one star for "Gone With the Wind" and three starts for "Breakfast at Tiffany's" friends were acusing me of not liking "girl flicks". Whatever that means.

Well I enjoyed "The Sound of Music" enormously. So there. I admit I hadn't seen it for years and it has sat for some time on the shelf before I watched it but I have to say I thought it had stood the test of time really well.Julie Andrews' voice was so effortless and perfect and the sheer magnificence of Salzburg was such a great background to the story. (Unfortunately, my holiday tape of Salzburg was taped over by my daughter when she was two - I ended up with the Smurfs - perhaps an excuse to go back).

And the special features, especially the real life story of the Familie von Trapp, were of real interest. ... Read More:
