This review refers to the BLU-RAY edition ONLY and NOT to the DVD edition.
Well having The Terminitor series on DVD and loving them and having recently upgraded to a blu-ray player I decided to take the plunge and upgrade my collection to high definition blu-ray format.
Boy, what a mistake that was.
Picture quality is AWFUL - well awful for blu-ray anyway. They've taken the same standard definition source as the DVD and upscaled it for blu-ray - but it's still standard edition. Only the menu is in High Definition, the movie is not. I tested my DVD version upscaled against the blu-ray edition and found them identical - if anything the DVD came out slightly on top.

I bought this, because i like the film and it was the extended edition, which i find far more satisfying than the theatrical edition. If it had been the theatrical edition i wouldn't have touched it.
The main principle of blu ray is better picture, better sound, which is achieved here.
If you only buy films for extras Stick with the DVD,
but if like me you just love the film ,then this is top notch.
for people to say the picture is no better than an upscaled DVD is a joke, I watched the DVD version and the picture is shocking, one of the worst DVD transfers I think I've seen, its only because I bought a bigger TV that i've come to notice these things otherwise I probably would've agreed it is no ... I've never been huge fan of disaster films, as I've always found them to be over the top, or just an excuse for some special effects. Nevertheless I decided to give the pre-millennium Dante's Peak a chance and all things considered I'm pretty glad I did as I really enjoyed the film.
Set in Dante's Peak (hence the title I guess) the film tells of a major volcano located in the heart of the town, that's about to blow it top. Despite the increasingly alarming warning signs, the idea of evacuation is considered premature and brushed aside, despite the best efforts of Pierce Brosnan (who plays the volcano expert) to convince them otherwise. There are some really spectacular special effects, but all have been done in such a way that really ... Read More:

One of the best movies ever made, this has everything. The action is crisp, the situation powerful and the whole film delivers right across the board. If you haven't seen this, buy it immediately. You fool.

This is truly a good film and one of the few films that has a descent sequel. James Cameron is without doubt a master of this franchise but is a ashame that he did not direct terminator 3. The special effects in this film broke new boundries when released with the appearance of the T-1000 walking through a gate and fire.
Included are deleted scenes which I believe could have been added to make this film even better. It has an alternate ending which would have stopped the franchise their and then so I am glad that they did not use it.
I heavily recommend that this film be in any collection.

Ok, so the third is the weakest, but it is still a great film. the first two are classics, and simply can't be beaten, i guess people are just going to have to accept that. overall, this trilogy is probably one of the best ever made, and that's probably because there was no studio interfering with it. entertaining, well directed, heartfelt even, and last but not least, good stories. now that's something we don't get very often. can't wait for the future. nuff said.

I had a feeling I wasn't going to like this but I manage to get through it. Nearly everything that Stephen King has ever written seems to have been turned into a film or TV series; in fact, I'm surprised that no one has tried to make a mini-series from the guy's grocery list. Let's face it, if they did, it couldn't be any less interesting than 'Children of the Corn.'
Based on one of King's many short stories, this 1984 horror flick sees Linda Hamilton and Peter Horton playing a couple on a long car journey who run into a spot of bother when they chance upon the sleepy Nebraska town of Gatlin, where all of the adults have been murdered by children who worship an ancient evil that lurks in the corn fields.
