Due to so many varied reviews on Amazon about the individual DVD's in the series,I will limit my comments just to say that this box set represents superb family entertainment whatever your age and is possibly one of the best value box sets around.
As family viewing goes,it will keep the kids quiet for hours but the individual films are lengthy so spread your viewing over a couple of weekends to prevent over doing it.The movies themselves are great fun and with so many gruesome characters, make sure the more nervous ones in your family who are old enough to watch have someone to snuggle up to,just in case. In fact,in some of the scenes,I could have done with snuggling up to someone myself!
This is great entertainment and if you have ... Read More:

This has rapidly become one of my favourite films of all time! Bloody Brilliant!
Johnny Depp and Helena Bohnam Carter are fantastic, I was wary of their singing to begin with, but soon you forget and are immersed in the story and I couldn't imagine anyone else in their roles.
The visual effects are amazing, I love the use of dark, dingy colours followed by the vibrant splash of scarlet blood splattered everywhere! If you are a bit scared of blood I would watch out, as it is quite graphic! It does have an 18 certificate for a reason!!

This is an amazing film, top notch i have seen all of the trilogy and this film is possibly the best, ignore any one who has rated this 1 star and has said they have only watched 30min of it, the film goes on for awhile but that makes it all the better in my opinion, the cast is amazing as always with even more new characters, the effects are quality and has a great story, i strongly recomend this to any one who loves the other two films and has not watched this film yet, and to any film lover, because i think any one can enjoy this, but would be an easier watch if the first two films were watched first, but this is one of the best trilogy's ever made, if not the best.

Mother and daughter, both outsiders, blow into stuffy old-fashioned French village (cobbled streets, quaint houses, romantic lamplight, no cars, no uncouth farmers) and bring with them the power to release the claustrophobic and straight-laced community from its inhibitions - not the first time on screen that this formula has been employed. What is unusual is the medium they use. Delicious and irresistible chocolate confectionery tempts everyone, and turns then into better, more liberated people. In the end, good defeats bad, love triumphs over hate, and everyone is released from cramping conventions to do their own thing. Very much a message of our times, in other words, and perhaps none the worse for that - though whether self-indulgence is always ... Read More:

I'll probably be lynched for this heresy!... but I wouldn't recommend this one unless you're a diehard fan of one of the actors, or just a special effects geek.
This film wanders around, without much of a plot, relying far too heavily on humour [!??] and special effects. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it, but want to, but it destroys relationships, with characters betraying one another instead of standing together.
Not a 'Feel Good' film, and not a PATCH on Pirates I, Curse of the Black Pearl.

a beautiful film that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. the cast is great and i loved the animtion, these
things make up for a slight lack of story line but it is still a wonderful movie!

Swashbuckling pirates, cursed baddies, sea battles, sword fighting, danger and a good deal of rum - WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT?!? Johnny Depp's FAB! With a great array of back-stage animators creating the 'cursed' affect, Pirates of the Caribbean is your perfect family film! Plus, it's absolutely hilarious!
Some say this is the best, but I'll leave that to you to decide. But there is one thing I DO know - and that is that after you've watched POTC 1, there's no stopping you until you've seen all three!!!

I grew up watching the original film so I expected not to like this version as much but I actually prefer it.
It's a lot darker than the original film and I found it very amusing.
I wasn't so impressed with all the added parts about Willy Wonka's father but apart from that it was all good. I think it's one of those films that's just as good for adults as it is for children.
And of course it has Johnny Depp in it, which is a great bonus!

One thing you are certain of with a Tim Burton film, is that it will be a visual feast, and Sleepy Hollow is no exception. You have to keep reminding yourself that it is a colour film, as Burton makes the whole thing look so washed out and, to a point, sepia. You will realise just how washed out the movie looks when after viewing it, take a look at the original cinema trailer (an extra on this DVD) - it almost leaps off the screen with bright colours. But the washed out misty look is best for this film and just adds to the sense of unease and forboding.
Johnny Depp does indeed "camp it up a storm" as Constable Ichabod Crane, one of the NYPD's earliest stars it seems. His investigation into the Headless Horseman killings in upstate New York lead him into many sinister and ghoulish ... Read More:
