National Treasure: Book of Secrets is everything a big budget adventure sequel should be. A bigger story and better action help make Book of Secrets a surprising crowd pleaser.
Setting out to clear his ancestor's name, Ben Gates is back in treasure-hunting action to unequivocally prove that his family had nothing to do with the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. With his usual cohorts Riley, Abigail and his father, Patrick Gates, the trio must race against the clock to stop a new enemy, Mitch Wilkinson, from uncovering an ancient treasure before they can, or forever risk the Gates name being associated with the death of one of America's greatest presidents. Book of Secrets is crammed packed with puzzles, car chases and exciting ... Read More:

Although I enjoyed the film on a very basic, escapist level, the cynical American nationalism on show was quite replellent. As the film bowls along we are given endless panoramic views of American landmarks, cities, and - what a shock - an aircraft carrier brimming over with fighter planes. The theme throughout appears to be "Gee, aint the good ole USA amazing!" with a flimsy adventure almost tacked on. Also, in the company of Harvey Keitel and Sean Bean (what were they thinking?) Nicolas Cage proves once again that he can't act; I suppose that's what nepotism is all about - if Uncle Francis Ford Coppola couldn't give his nephew a hand up, who could? He did it with his daughter in Godfather 3, after all. Oh, and the villains are the Brits ... Read More:

I never really got the nack of 3 hour films, 'Lord of the rings' etc. but Troy is a powerful action packed film with plenty of hard fighting.
Troy is an 'Epic' you may find the term when you look at Kingdom of heaven, Gladiator or Master and Commander. I can clearly see Troy up with films like that. As for the film iself, it has an amazing cast and i was surprised to see Sean Bean as well since i didnt read the small print lol bu yeah and it featured Peter O'toole who ive seen in many other films. As for the special effects, what can i say it looked real from the start, the fighting was was gorey from what you might of seen in Gladiator like Stab, Chopped heads of etc.
A long time ago i saw the orignal cut of Troy and i was not impressed ... Read More:

`National Treasure' stars Nicholas Cage as Ben Gates, a treasure hunter whose life-long dream is to find the treasures from the templar knights. A clue at the North Pole sets things in motion, and Ben must use his formidable cryptography skills to decipher puzzles hidden in the most unlikely places--one appears on the dollar bill, and another is on the back of the U.S. constitution. Ben's unscrupulous former partner (Sean Bean) and his gang of thugs are also after the treasure for selfish, evil purposes. A plot to steal the constitution sets off a 13-colony-wide chase with all the trimmings: cops going after the wrong man, the rescue of a cute female cryptographer (Diane Kruger) who tags along for the ride, along with Jon Voight who plays Ben's disapproving ... Goodbye Bafana unfolds an unpleasant, but important piece of South African history, the apartheid phase. The cinemagraphy and the calibre of acting are of the highest standard, which really enhances the movie realism. The historical accuracy is always questioned, but no doubts emerge about this, as it is truly accounted as the movie unfolds. Otherwise, it is a history forgery which is not case, as facts are presented about what happened to the characters featured. This enhances historical accuracy of the movie and eliminates casting doubts.
The movie recaptures a historical journey of South Africa in the late 60's to early 90's during the time Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years and the eventual release of him in society. During the imprisonment, ... Read More:

It's not a five-star film, but this stout navy-blue R1 box is a veritable treasure chest. You get two DVDs, postcards and a cute little hardback book of production designs, notes and a letter from Brad Pitt complaining about his costume. It's a beautifully put-together package, and the film itself is a longer, better cut, too. You see Odysseus trying to "dodge the draft" by pretending to be a goatherd and several other little character touches taken straight from the myths, filmed and then foolishly cut to make way for more fighting.

This film is brilliant - i loved every second and have watched it at least once a month for the last year.....wow that sounds sad but it's just so good! Most love stories and romantic films leave me bored and irritated but this one is different - it's complex and ultimately hopeful. Plus of course there is the beauty of Josh......and the sound track is great too.

Wonderful story, moving and human.
For those who remain sceptical about the truth of these events, do some researches, read the books of Maurice Genevoix (who fought in this war and took part in these fraternizations). I can tell you (but it is your choice to believe it or not) that my great-grand father who fought in this war, told his family when he came back (because he indeed survived) about these fraternizations during 1914 X-mas Eve. And I am sure that some french, english, german or belgian families still have in their private letters some proofs of that.
