Another great British film, following the likes of Hot Fuzz and Bridget Jones.
The Bank Job is based on a true event which was covered up by the media. They stole more money in one night then any other criminal could ever imagine.
In the film they plan to dig their way into the safety deposit box area of the bank via another shop, then they find some photos which were supposed to be kept secret. Then the guy behind these photos wants them back.
I'm going to say no more because I'll probably ruin it for you otherwise!

Oh, how I agree with Anna-lena Berg! I really love David Suchet as Hercule Poirot, but the new series is not as good as I expected. Third Girl : David Baker should really be the bad guy - I was totally shocked that they changed the story. The same thing with Appointemnt with Death - very dissapointing. Mrs. MacGuinty is ok and Cat among the pidgeons too.

I was hoping (like others) to be able to play this more than once with a different culprit. Unfortunately it will always be the same person (and once the game started I remembered quickly who did it) If when you play the game both teams guess wrong then my advice is don't let Poirot tell you, that way the game can be played again with the mystery intact
However, the mix of puzzles and games are THE BEST I have seen. (I'm a fan of DVD games) and from end to end it should take a couple of hours or so. Though I did find when I played it a second time that a fair few questions are repeated (though none within a game)
It is probably best to compare this to a murder mystery party 'kit'. If you think of it that way then ... Read More:

The 1985 film (which was broadcast as six episodes of 53 minutes each) was filmed mainly in South Shropshire. Handyman Hall was filmed at Stanage Park, near Heartsease, Powys. Ludlow stood in for the fictitious town of Worford, and Deddington near Banbury became the village of Guildstead Carbonell, where several mock buildings were demolished in the market place for the film. Ludlow's Butter Cross, in the busy and constricted town centre, was used as the courtroom. The Lodge, where Blott lives, was built on land at Blaise Castle Estate near Bristol.
The original broadcast was between 6 February 1985 and 13 March 1985.
I did see the Original Broadcast in 1985 { when I was 32 } and I am in my third viewing of the DVD and I am ... Read More:

I absolutely wanted to own the episode entitled 'taken by the flood' in which Elliot Cowan manages the feat of playing the most attractive ,charismatic and frightening villain that ever existed. How his character can fascinate and repulse at the same time is incredible!Cowan does it with a nonchalance and an aplomb that is not to be found in an average actor. The other episodes, although not as good, are very entertaining nonetheless and shot with such lavish spendour that they are a joy to watch. Added to this is the masterful performance of David Suchet who wears Poirot like a second skin.Settings, costumes, performances, everything is first class, the only very slight problem being Suchet's English accent which can sometimes be heard when he speaks French.

I don't understand the poor reviews. I've read the novel many times (it's one I'd take to my desert island), and yes, a lot has been left out, but the performances of David Suchet and Shirley Henderson alone make this a 5* in my opinion. Outstanding, both of them, and Matthew McFadyen was also excellent as Sir Felix.

Winstone plays Winstone yet again. He should stick to gangster films where the dialogue is limited and the only acting skill required is to look hard.
Could have been good if Henry had been played by an actor.
