Alan Moore provides the reader with plenty motivation for us to hate the Joker in this short story; so much in fact that it make's Commisioner Gordon's response largely unbelievable, and Batman's 'let's be friends, I can help you' reaction somehow cowardly. The villain is elevated to such a level of cruelty and malice that Batman's idealistic moral outlook has no counter. The result is Batman comes off as a wimp.
The artwork by Boland is wonderful, but probably the worst story I've read of Moore's.

This book is amazing! I find myself using it on a daily basis to look things up as well as using the recipes. It's great for people like me who do not have a clue about cooking as it is very easy to follow. Even if you are a good cook already, you will find this book invaluable for giving you ideas on what to give your little one. I think my daughter would be living on jars of baby food if I hadn't bought this book!

This is a wonderful journey, with a man that enjoys life, it made me want to do the exact same thing as him, read, relax and travel with Frankie.

This is a fantastic book again by Robert Harris, like all his previous fiction I found it insightful. I believe it has been cleverly written to lead the readers into constantly seeing Adam Lang has Tony Blair but that is part of the beauty of the writing, because for me its brings readers into the complexities of being a ghost writer and the emotions that was involved. He became an unwilling confidant and was left with the burden of the truth and the dangers that went with the knowledge. A beautifully crafted and intriguing story.

This is a brilliant and very cheap little book. It doesn't take much reading and has all the area you could require for a simple garden. The A-Z of vegetables is clear; just what is needed to go with the month by month guide. It is also helpful to deal with any problems one might come across. All together a well rounded book! Some of the diagrams would perhaps benefit from some colour though. Carla x

My only wish is that I could read it in the original Swedish as the only flaws in this book were the occasional translation errors. All in all though, a superb read. I was up till 3am finishing it last night and have recommended it to all my friends. I'm looking forward to the remaining books in the trilogy and will definitely be adding them to my Xmas/birthday present wishlist.

Having read the other reviews about how gripping this book was, it was disappointing to find it relied on crude language, a poorly executed plot and generally graphic sex scenes that were irrelevant and at best, unimaginative. All the characters had potential to develop but were let down by shortcuts and poor conclusions. Could have been much better written with a different ending and more care to make the characters less one dimensional.

I'm nearly at the end of the book but couldn't wait to say what a thoroughly enjoyable, funny, and thought provoking read this book has been. I've read this as an atheist with an always enquiring mind. I've not felt pressured into following Ms Gilbert's beliefs - this is not a "Try this at home" or a "How to be successful" book, nor is it judgmental of any religions. This is Gilbert's very personal journey and it explains ideas and practices from most religions. I have an understanding of where she's coming from. It hasn't changed my views of the practised religions, but it has encouraged me to read further. It could also be titled "A tourist's guide to searching for God" as the descriptions of the places Gilbert visits could rank with any good book on ...
