This is the best book I've read in a very, very long time. Brand's conversational style peppered with hilarious insight and humour is phenomenal. He holds the narrative well throughout, and unlike other autobiographies, he manages to tell the story of his life without that boring "and then this happened, and then that happened and then this happened" rhythym. He seamlessly weaves in and out of his memories and anecdotes, without leaving the reader in a state of confusion.
I have read a few online articles where the reviewers have thought he came across as arrogant and narcissistic, but truly when you read this book you realise that he is actually quite sensitive and insecure in himself.

Let's leave the recent Radio 2 controversy to one side and concentrate on this book. I imagine if you've got this far, you are either a fan of Russell Brand or football, probably both.
`Articles of Faith' is a collection of Russell Brand's Saturday column in The Guardian spanning the 2007/08 season. If like me you didn't manage to buy the paper every week it is the perfect opportunity to play catch up. It's also very funny. I respect Russell for writing the column. With a burgeoning media profile and a movie carer about to take off, I was both glad and surprised that he stuck to the task and continued writing about football from wherever he found himself around the globe (Hawaii, Hollywood, The Isle of White). Surely, with so much going on, ... Read More:

I was never quite sure whether Russell Brand woluld last more than a year or two. He seemed to come along very quickly and was all over the media like a rash--for good and bad reasons. It seemed like he would explode in the hype and vanish.
Now two or three years later he's still here and bigger than ever. This second comedy show is even better than last years release. He seems more assured and the material is very sharp. If you like good stand up then check this out. The chances are you'll find it better than you'd imagined.
