and the best guide I've come across for India. Packed with detail and a reasonable cultural/ historical introduction. Maps are great, the timetables are pretty accurate, the opening times and prices are correct...
There are some very bad LP guides out there. Vietnam springs to mind. But LP India has been consistently good throughout the years. I think I've used 4 versions of the guidebook and have been pleased with the improvements everytime.
Obviously the negativities are that it is pretty big but how else are you supposed to cram in all that information.

This is an incredibly useful book for professionals involved in the preparation and negotiation of ISDA documentation. The overview of the Master Agreements is very clear (and helpfully set out) with legal and commercial issues being identified and addressed succinctly but in enough detail to be meaningful. On my desk the book comes into its own in its review of the negotiation of Schedules and, although it cannot cover off all possible counterparties or every issue on complex transactions, it is the best treatment of these documents I have come across. Highly recommended.

I bought this book a year ago now and found it pretty poor! I've been to finland 10 or more times and feel I know the country and its people a lot more than the author of this book! His descriptions of Finnish attitudes and temproment are so stereotyped and dated. Fascinating Museums, Buildings and Shops do not seem to feature! I can not comprehend how some one could produce this kind of book, about such a fascinating and unique place! Finland is a dynamic vibrant and varied place and has a lot more to offer than this guide would suggest! Its a real dissapointment, it does however carry some useful logistical info, trains, hotels/ hostels ect. But most of this info can be found on the net or from the many Tourist Infomation Offices in Finland. ... Read More:

There was a time when Lonely Planet was written by people who had actually been to all the places in their books, and could talk from first hand experience of the locations. However, this is clearly not the case with this latest edition. After waiting eagerly for the latest edition to be published in mid-May before my camping trip in June 2004, it was with some astonishment to see one of the authors' main travelling credentials was attending the "runtur", the weekly pub-crawl in Reykjavik! That aside, the architectural walking tour of Reykjavik is a disappointment as it takes one through all the most dismal streets, whilst information on locations outside of the capital is sparce and quite vague; indeed in some places it is very inaccurate and in a couple ...
