Mac OS X Leopard: The Missing Manual

I have just bought an unbelievable MacBook, ( I previously owned a G4 running Tiger) I was a bit worried because I know Snow Leopard is on its way in summer 2009, so upgrades will date this book. However this book is easy to understand and full of logical short cuts. The only drawback is that because I have used a Mac for years a lot of the book contains information I know about. I will purchase the IPhoto manual by the same author simply because I was so impressed and I am finding that IPhoto 08 7.1.5 is very different from the IPhoto I had on my G4. This book would make any Mac Leopard owner a great Xmas present.

I bought this with my computer (sorry Amazon). Anyway; I've bought a few PC technical books in the past and found them tough going, I actually found myself enjoying reading this book; I will look out for other titles written by David Pogue.
As a side note it was a good job I did buy this book as you get no manual to speak of with a new i-mac

iPhoto '08: The Missing Manual

Having just upgraded to Leopard and iphoto 08, I thought I would look to improve my skills. This book IS the one that should have been in the box. The 1st part covers everything you need to know about buying and operating a digital camera. I found out about features of my Olympus camera that I didn't know existed. The book explains the basics and the more complicated features in a simple easily understood way. The 2nd and 3rd sections cover the iphoto software itself and I am working my way through the chapters learning more and more. How I wished I'd discovered this book months ago. I would recommend this series of books to everybody ( I have also purchased the Mac OS X Leopard version)

Windows Vista: The Missing Manual

Having previously bought "Windows XP Home Edition" by the same author/publisher I have found this to be equally useful.
Shame Mr Bill Gates doesn't spend some of his profits providing the same information with his products !
I highly recommend this book.

Classical Music for Dummies (For Dummies)

I found this an enjoyable read although I agree that some of the jokes could be annoying.

I particularly enjoyed the CD and the last chapter or so gave some technical information albeit at a basis level. I am fortunate enough to own a large CD collection and this book has encouraged me to try out some more adventurous composers.
