I own quite a few slow cooker cookery books and this one is by far the best. The recipes are easy to follow and taste wonderful. These recipes, unlike some in other books, have minimal preparation and can be left for the entire cooking time without requiring ingredients to be added half way though (which kind of defeats the object of a slow cooker in my opinion). I would recommend this book to anyone who wishes to make the most of their slow cooker.

My husband bought me this book for Christmas and I haven't looked back. The recipes are great and exclude the sugar and skimmed milk powder nonsense that came with the recipe book for my machine. Every loaf has come out perfectly (I have a Panasonic SD253) - I have even braved the free-form ones using the dough programme and had great results (The Italian loaf is to die for). On the rare occasions we buy bread now, we notice just how sweet it is, and just how many alarming ingredients there are listed on the packaging! I can't recommend it highly enough.

If you're new to steaming this is a great little book to get you started. It contains lots of recipes and timings for different vegetables, meat, fish and poultry. I often refer to this book more than the book which came with the steamer!
My only criticism is that there are no pictures to accompany the recipes, but if you're looking for an inexpensive book to get you started, this is the one for you.

Oh my god this is great for the beginner, I am just starting out and have gone Orgaic, this gave me so many great ideas, its a little bit of the quick version, you use a lot of ready made custard and ready made chocolate, but to start with thats what you want and if you want to that can be substituted for home maded custard base, great intro and large section on ice-cream such puddings like chocolate banana ice cream pie, and baked alaska!!! --- I whole heartedly recommend this book, so cheap but a real Gem!!!

I've rarely used my slow cooker in the past, except for beef chilli for my husband. I had limited expectations (although I don't know why), but this book has turned up trumps.
There's a whole mix of recipes (1-2 hours, 6hrs, savoury, sweet) and most include everyday ingredients that probably hit your shopping list anyway.
A few recipes;
Lentil Dhal with onion, cumin and garlic
Spicy Chick Peas in a a tomato sauce with rosemary
Vegetable Casserole with thyme and cheese dumplings
Spiced Couscous with apricots, feta and pine nuts
Butter Bean and Pasta Casserole with gremolata
Sticky Toffee Pudding
Some recipes require you to fiddle a fair bit but most recipes are a total breeze, and ideal ... Read More:

When I first started flicking through this book, it seemed to me that almost every recipe included cheese; ok, I had started at the beginning with the snacks and starters, so maybe that wasn't so strange (72% of these recipes included cheese), and the next section - Veg and pasta dishes - well you'd expect to be a bit cheesy, though with 66% containing cheese it still seemed a bit much. Anyway, I felt I'd be out of the cheesy woods when I got to the fish dishes, but no... 66% of these also included cheese. Ok, so on to the meat & poultry section. Surely I'd left the cheese behind now. And the first recipe was... Squash with meat and cheese stuffing, followed by Beef and cheese strudel; Beef-stuffed aubergine with (you've guessed it) cheese; ... Read More:

I started off with a 650 watt microwave and moved on to a 850 watt. I found that I was a little lost on cooking times so ordered the book which helped no end in determining how long to cook various items.
