I would definatly recommend these if you are having difficulties with a traditional beaker. When i tried to introduce a beaker my son did not drink from it - i tried several types, but he would often reach to drink from a glass someone was holding and would 'drink' if someone held it for him. we've had one for about 6 weeks now and i'm now ordering some more of these for grandmas- as he drink loads from it (although some always ends up down his front)and it'll save getting having to teach him to drink from a cup in the future!

With my daughter, and now with my son, it seemed we tried every cup under the sun, with every state-of-the-art valve system designed to make it 'non-spill'. Unfortunately, this seems to be entirely for the parents' benefit: yes, the carpets stayed dry, but neither of my children could actually get liquid out of these valved wonders. My son loved his bornfree cups and drank from them easily. They don't really spill either. Unfortunately he chews on the spouts and the last pair we ordered lasted 2 days!!! I wouldn't have minded replacing them frequently but not that frequently!! I have not been able to find a replacement cup yet and wish these spouts could withstand a bit more chewing.

My son loved his bornfree cups and drank from them easily. They don't really spill either. Unfortunately he chews on the spouts and the last pair we ordered lasted 2 days!!! I wouldn't have minded replacing them frequently but not that frequently!! I have not been able to find a replacement cup yet and wish these spouts could withstand a bit more chewing.

Yes this may be leak proof and huge but it suffers from a problem common to most sippy cups - that it is impossible to clean!! Despite laborious dismantling and dish washing nooks and crannies remain unclean. Over time this becomes a problem. How would you like to drink from an unwashed glass day in, day out?
Still it means the company gets to sell more.
