I was in two minds whether or not to buy this because of all the bad reviews about it being inaccurate, but I thought 'What the heck, I can always send it back'. I'm so glad I took the risk because this little gadget is great! It looks brilliant, giving a lovely soft glow to the nursery and the colours are a great visual indicator of the temperature which save you stumbling around in the dark trying to peer at a non-light up one. On the subject of the thermometer being inaccurate, I have to say it is definately not a problem with my egg as I have compared it to an extreamly accurate thermocouple thermometer and they always read no more than 0.1 of a degree apart. BT 100 Digital Baby Monitor

After the great success of the old BT digital monitor we bought 3 years ago for our daughter, we did not hesitate to buy the new version for our baby son.

Whilst all the features are great and we cannot find another monitor with everything this monitor has to offer at such a reasonable price, after a few weeks the monitor developed a fault - the parent unit will now only link to the child unit when held directly next to it!

BT were of no help (they ignore emails to their help address and the adviser on the phone just told us to swap for a new model).

However, reading other reviews I think we will be looking elsewhere for something more reliable.

The toys are bright and colourful. The music is not as good as it might be but i feel the mobile is busy and there are plenty of things to keep baby occupied

We bought this baby monitor for use while staying with my parents. We went for something cheap but have been very impressed with the quality of sound and range of this one. Worked well even though we were downstairs and several rooms away. Baby unit needs to be plugged in but parent unit can be plugged in or used in battery mode. You need to buy 3 AA batteries for it though.

I received this as a present for my son for his first Christmas when he was 4 months old.

I immediately had trouble strapping it to the cot as the plastic straps were just not up to the task of attaching to the sides of our cot. I worried about them coming undone and landing on my son in the night as the item is quite heavy.

Like most people have said on here, it's just too noisy to actually soothe your baby. I ended up using it as I was changing his nappy and getting him into his sleeping bag on his changing table rather than in his cot. He enjoyed the lightshow and the tunes like that, but I just didn't want to risk trying to leave it on the setting where you leave it switched on and a noise would start it as like others have said, ... we find the monitor does its job. can hear baby clearly. needs to be away from mobile phones though.night light ideal and enough to change a nappy by and check the small person! basicly you could spend alot more on something that will do the same job a bit more clearly but you get what you pay for!

Nircom Babysense ll Movement/Sound Monitor

When our baby was born, both my husband and i would spend our nights looking at our baby to check if she was still breathing. After a week of this, we bought one of these and its been fantastic. We now get a decent nights sleep without the worry. Well worth the money.

WE HAVE AN OLD TOMY WALKABOUT DIGITAL THAT HAS JUST STARTED TO PLAY UP, WELL IT HAS BEEN IN CONSTANT USE FOR 5 YEARS, AND IT NEEDS A SQUEEZE TO CORRECT IT, WELL NOW WE HAVE OUR 3RD BABY WE DECIDED TO PURCHASE WHAT WE THOUGHT WOULD BE A MORE ADVANCED MODEL - NOT THE CASE. THE CONCEPT OF THE TALK BACK FACILITY WAS GREAT BUT THE CONSTANT INTERFERENCE ON IT WAS UNBEARABLE, WE CHANGED THE SETTINGS ON IT SO WE DIDNT HAVE IT ON SUCH A SENSITIVE SETTING BUT THEN THE TALKBACK FACILITY DIDNT PICK UP CLEARLY WHAT WAS BEING SAID. WE NEEDED IT ON SENSITIVE AS WE HAVE A 2 1/2 YEAR OLD WHO FALLS OUT OF BED AND OBVIOUSLY NEEDED TO HEAR THE BUMP! Very unhappy with this. It won't work with any rechargable batteries I have, and normal batteries last a matter of hours before dying. One particularly terrible design feature (of many) is that, if you forget to switch the 'parent' unit on, then the baby unit switches itself off after a few minutes, meaning that you have to go back to switch it on and risk waking your baby. Oh, and after less that 6 months, one of the power supplies has just burnt out. Really bad.

We don't need all the bells and whistles or lights and screens, we just need to hear if Junior makes a noise so we went for this basic unit. Unfortunately our house (not an old one) seems to be the intergalactic gathering place for static.

No matter where we place the parent unit, we get a very annoying continual crackling noise. Only way to minimise it (but not remove it) is to switch off everything electrical - which makes for such a boring evening we'd be better upstairs watching Junior.

Even when we managed to get the static levels lowered we could hardly hear any baby noises because this system just isn't that sensitive.
