Starters, yes they are using their same design to the Dual shock 2 and Dual shock and it is a trade mark of Playstation. Old? Yes. Broken? No, theres nothing broken about the controller, sure there are room of improvements as with all of them - The analogue sticks need to be more robust is the biggest improvement they can do i think, which i think they have improved a bit with Dualshock 3. And the other thing would be to make the constroller more rounded and maybe slightly bigger for adult hands size i think. Maybe also bring the design into the 21st century just make the buttons have that glassy effect like the PSP, Xbox 360 controllers, pretty easy to do.
