We bought this for my daughter when she was 5 and she loved using it, we went on to buy several other games (Ariel's Undersea Adventures, Cinderella and Scoobie Doo) all have been very entertaining and I would say they have helped with her numeracy and literacy in a very positive but undemanding way. HOWEVER!!! The first console died (one month before the warranty ran out, but we'd lost the receipt!) and the replacement that we then purchased has now also died with the same symptoms - you tried to turn it on and although on occassions it might have made an effort, more often than not it did not, resulting in an upset child.
