I'm 44 years old and used to have Scalextric as a boy, and have purchased this Scalextric for my Son. It's great, both my Son and I enjoy racing around the track. Well recommended!

The set is fantastic. What the previous reviewer failed to notice is a switch on the track itself (ie. the power inlet) which allows either 'dual' power supply or a 'single' power supply to be used.

I've always been a fan, and wanted to get my son a set fo Christmas. What the manufacturers fail to tell you is that they ship the box with only one transformer in it. This means that despite two shiny side by side tracks, you can't run your cars in a race - they have to follow in the same groove one behind each other. We feel really cheated, and wanted to warn all buyers they have to get add-ons. I guess the manufacturer might suggest that people would have extras already from other sets - but this is supposed to be a full and complete set as far as I can see. It seems to me to be a ploy to boost sales of accesories and as such I would never have bought it and may yet return the one I have for failing to set expectations. Most items would say needs batteries, so I think this should clearly say requires additional transformer to race cars.
