Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Suprisingly good.
This game is inetresting, in that it works like a slightly changed Diablo II, you have a variety of characters to control. Each character comes with only four abilities that get stronger and bigger, but then consider that you control four at once, and suddenly the game gets a lot bigger. And it does it quickly. All the faves are here, Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops, Jean Grey. Jean Grey becoming more fun in later levels, when you pick up cars and throw them at sentinels, if you so wish.

That graphics are somewhat chunky, not so much that you notice during the game, but during cutscsenes you'll be wondering why they all have flippers for hands.

Overall the game is fun, and people looking for a fun game that will keep them enetertained I would easily recommend this game too. Graphics aren't cutting edge, but they don't need to be when a games just goddam fun without breaking any new ground.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A Good game
This game is highly reminiscent of Baldur's Gate, except in some ways better but in some ways worse, so it kind of balances out. Playing as the X-Men is great and features loadsa characters each with cool powers, some better than others. The graphics look like the comics but in a nice 3d way so the game looks very good. Like Baldur's Gate however, the gameplay gets slightly repetitive in just going around killing people. The game adds a feature in which you can change between your team of four characters in the middle of a fight which is a nice addition. There are loads of unlockables throughout the game such as comic books, original art designs, movies and discs where you can play through scenarios in the danger room. The sound is what you'd expect, and there are lots of the city sounds whilst traversing the different levels. There are lots of cool things to do throughout the game apart from the main missions such as the danger room and playing flashbacks. I thought that the constant visits back to the mansion were slightly unnecessary however and became a bit boring. When you first start the game there is a news show on the TV and the footage actually looks real. So much so, that when I played the start to my friends, they didn't even know it was a game. Each character can have four mutant abilities which can be levelled up and can be used. Each character also has several other abilities which benefit either them or the entire team. when levelling up though only a certain amount of points are given to you and the highest level you can get to is 45 I think and all the points you get means you can't have all the abilities so you must choose wisely. You can also upgrade your basic attributes to increase health, defense, attack etc. The reason this game loses a star is simply because of the repetitiveness and no presence of tactics because you can't even block. Overall it is a good game worth the price, so I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good action RPG.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Do not overlook
X-men legends is not that bad. It is basically a platform beat 'em up and it does a pretty good job of sticking to the basics. The levels are long and the graphics are not bad; although they are obviously modelled on cartoons and not people. The action itself is exactly what you would expect, enemies arrive, you kill, you move on. Although the hitting can get repetitive and the combos are limited, that is not really the reason why people play beat 'em ups, we play to simply button bash, which is essentially what happens, but its fun. The special mutant powers gives X-men Legends a bit of a twist compared to other platform games of this genre. The mansion story line is boring however and not worth being included. The multiplayer is really pretty good, even though the camera gets annoying sometimes. The multiplayer in the Danger Room is pretty good fun as well. This games reminds me a lot of Streets Of Rage for whatever console everyone had (mega-drive for me) although obviously much better than Streets Of Rage. Personally I love this sort of game and if you are too then I recommend it, but if you are not into it I would think carefully about buying.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great game!
I just finished playing it and WHOA!
By the end of the game I was still finding new details, items and combos. It's not so much a RPG but it does use some of the concepts. By allowing the player to choose which way to upgrade his team and the shear number of characters to choose from keep the game fresh from start to finish. Maybe the plot could be a little more complex but it doesn't detract from the gameplay. Each X-Man also as it's own quirks, I felt they put a lot of thought on how they played and interacted.

Plus the Skirmish format (Player vs player) is very entertaining and it allows the player to control practicly every character (friend or foe) in the game! Almost every single one has multiple powers and some even a Mega power similar to the regular X-Man.

Maybe the X-Mansion could be a little more interactive but, it really is a minor point 4.5 stars!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - At last, a nice "based on a comic license" game !!
First game that is well above average wich is based on a comix license. I'ts a bit like Baldur's series but with several differences, begining with the graphics that has a nice mix of 2D cell-shading and 3D, it real gets the comix feel. The plot is a bit more ellaborate that the usual for a video game, and it's quite well written. You manage to play with a all bunch of X-men official and not-official members, and all of then are well made graphically and biographicaly. The only down bit, is that it's a bit too easy: an avarage player will manage to play the all game without having to replay a single level, but the last boss, wich on the other hand manage too get bit didicult (out of the blue). The game is well balanced, with lots of action and with nice relaxing and discovering moments, it should give you something like 20 hours of pure play pleasure.
Anyway, I'll definetly buy X-Legends II.
