- Well, well, well look what came dashing back ............
When I first looked at the first shots of this game I didn't think it'd relive the fun expectations of Mario Kart 64 BUT I WAS WRONG!!! This is amazing with brilliant, detailed graphics, incredible music & sounds & the best multiplayer ever! (I mean who thinks having 16 players racing against each other is not amazing)!!!! The characters are well done with good detail & funny accents & the items have got better since the last game! A worthy purchase - you must have this!!!

This game is one of the best racing games I have ever play.
Its not a sim which will disapoint people who haven't had any other console apart from one from sony but this series has become a legend mainly because of how good the multiplayer game is.
In the previous versions I thought that the battle mode and Single play wasn't bettered by the N64 version it was unbelivibly better then the snes version in mulitplayer racing mode. Both of these versions of the game are probably the cause of my short sight. I've played them that much.
Being someone that perfered the snes version to the N64 I feel a little agreaved of what some of the N64 fans have be saying about this game mainly because its the same things I was saying when the N64 version was origanally release.
This game is as good as the other versions, it might not as good in some areas (or at least the memory's of them) but this is one of the best games on the market today for the one reason why the other games are so fondly remembered, its gameplay, people can complain about cutesy characters and that its not always about being fastest all they want, this game is plan and simple Fun (for young, old and drunk) and there's not much else out there that can touch anything in this series for that, and this latest version will start all the same arguements when the next version is released in six or so years time (asuming that Nintendo keep these standards up), that there has been since the N64 version was released.
If you haven't already got Mariokart buy this, it's really is a good as people say it is, and most of all, unlike alot of other games it is worth the money you pay for it because you keep wanting just one more go at it until the next versions out, and then you'll still want to play it now and again. (I've played both my snes and N64 versions since gamecube was released).
Oh and sorry for saying the N64 version was crap when it came out I was wrong about that, but I don't think there will be many people saying I'm wrong about this.

Having been an avid Mario Kart fan, I too let out a quiet moan when I first started this game up.
It's inevitable, with all hype and expectations surrounding game, everyone just presume the game will jump out and grab you and steal your social life forever, it may be true to some extent, but you really have to persevere from the beginning.
Compared to the previous MK games, this latest offering contain a lot more subtle changes then you can imagine, so much so that at first it just didn't feel like the MK of old. That's because you have to re-adjust your whole perspective on this game. Pick and mixing your players now plays a more important part in your pursuit of better times. The 50 and 100 cc class lacked the speed but it's just there to warm you up for the ultra smooth and fast 150cc. The tracks, though seemed bland at first glance, are absolute gems once you start veering off the main track and start looking for shortcuts.
As with the previous MK games, it's great as a single player game, but really comes to it's own when a group of mates come round for a quick bout. It's a total mayhem when you hook up two cubes.
Too often people complain about sequels don't contain enough changes to justify forking out for a new title, yet when they do make changes, and all for the better in this case, people start to say they changed the whole dynamic of the gameplay which made the previous versions so enjoyable. Not true, this game has enough depth for the more serious gamers to discover and master and enough initial fun factor for the casual players who just come round for a quick race. To me, this is the ultimate MK experience EVER.

I thing these game is the best ever made. It is 100000000000000000X's better than any other Karting in the history of karting games.

"MarioKart Double dash" is a great game for its gameplay, sound, music and scenery. It totally beats its predecessors as: "N64 Mario kart" which was rubbish, and "Super mario kart" which was great at the time. Since I still own Super Mario Kart I know what I am talking about. MarioKart Double Dash is a game to "GET".
