Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One of the best consoles ever!
I have all three sixth generation consoles, PS2, Xbox and GameCube.

I bought my GameCube in early 2003 and have had no trouble with it, the games are absolutely fantastic. Nearly all the games I own are exclusive to the GameCube.

In my opinion the GameCube and PlayStation 2 are equally the best of their generation, I have played on both these consoles many hours more than on my Xbox.

Sadly, third party support was limited on the GameCube although Sega stayed quite faithful, releasing some excellent games such as Super Monkey Ball and Sonic the Hedgehog.

Nintendo of course delivered the best first-party line up of all three consoles with Legend of Zelda, Super Mario and Metroid Prime.

The GameCube should never have been underrated the way it was, it was a "gamers" console that focused on giving the gamer the best possible experience.

The Wii has now come along and replaced the GameCube and seems to be getting much better sales and of course an excellent line up of first and third-party titles.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Seriously underrated, brilliant console, buy it for Christmas!
Hi, first of all I'd just like to say that I strongly agree with those other reviewers who feel that Nintendo as a company and their consoles (including the Gamecube) are unbelievably underrated. I have had the Gamecube for a while now and I still really enjoy playing games on it, I have The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker, Mario Kart, Soul Calibur and I'm getting Zelda: Twilight Princess for it too! I play all of these games and some other games quite regularly, I've been once again addicted to it recently, more than I have the PS2, it's true what another reviewer has said about the fact that Nintendo are original and produce addictive games!

To keep things short and sweet, this console is very good and is better than PS2 and XBOX in numerous ways, the graphics are solid and crisp, the sound is sharp and great and overall the gameplay of most games is wicked! This console doesn't just offer childish games which is the talk of this console and Nintendos catalogue, it offers a wide range of genres. If you haven't got much money and you want a console which you can really enjoy for Christmas and for a long time to come, I recommend the Gamecube, I really do! :)

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A powerful, fun console
For me, nintendo had always made consoles for 1 pupose - entertainment, and the game cube doesn't disspaoint. Many people have been put off by its 'childish' image, but would you judge a book by its cover? no. Inside the box is actually a very powerful, speedy, and quiet console - twice as powerful as a Playstation 2, which incredibly only has around a 257 mhz proccessor. The quick loading times are just one of the best features, but top of the list would have to be the controllers, which are without a doubt the best I have ever used. Upon placing it in the hand, it just sits perfectly into place, and is extremerly comfy.
The smaller discs are good too - nothing particulary special of course, just that they hold 1.5 gb of memory - twice as much as normal cd's. This accounts for some excellent FMV (movie)sequences in certain games.
Graphics wise, it out does the Playstation 2 easily of course. Sharp, crisp graphics are part of most games, and so far the best looking game I have played on it is Resident Evil Zero, which is stunning (both grpahics and gameplay). The line-up of games is very varied too, which is ideal. You can have fun games like Mario Party, which is again excellent fun for everyone, and plenty more.
Its portablilty is simply brilliant. The added handle on the back makes it easier to move, and its general cube'ish' shape (its not actually a perfect 'cube'.. but who cares eh??) is great for freedom of movement. The quiet, soft fan is nice too, and its overall appeal is, well.. fun!
I would invest in the 'wavebird' controller, which is just a fancy name for the wireless grey controller, which is very good, and a non-offical memory card, as Nintendo don't offer too much memory at low prices.
At 17 years old, i'm starting to get bored of video gaming, but if I have one regret, its that I should never have sold my Gamecube. Overall, its the ideal console - Portable, affordable, but the best thing?? Enjoyable!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - top console....deserves more!!!
Im not gonaa say much just that this is one of the best consoles in the world today!

People must see this is a console for GAMES!!

There are some superb games and for any age and for older gamers too!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Good console, one of the best ever!!!
This is a top console!! It is, FACT, deffo one of the best consoels ever created, and yes, lack of 3rd party games might put certain people off, but it has some of the best games only on Nintendo Gamecube! Graphics are superb, gameplay is fantasic on most games, and the controller, I think Nintendo is by far the best designers in the World for game controls,NES, SNES, N64 got best controller designs in awards for computer game consoles, and back in 2002 Gamecube did too, I think it speaks volume of what Nintendo can do! Yes mistake is that it was delayed a few years and maybe thats put other companies off it, who knows ,but it is one of the best consoles out there to this day STILL!!! The guy who wrote the review below from USA saying the following..

when i first got this console i thought i had two of the best of the 3 new consoles (xbox,ps2 and gamecube)

i was sadely mistaken. the lack of games for this console makes it bad the games they did realease where games feeding off the sucsess of there older versions(mario sunshine the worst of these)the games for the console where very cartoony and the need for its own shoot them ups and other serious games (horror, some sports)was despirate ,the controllers where bad (if i am being kind)and some games took up entire memory cards.however the re-realese of resident evil 1,2 and 3 and the first time realese of resident evil 4 was a good move.

a very bad move by nitendo was to not put a internet of dvd system in the console there excuse for this is they wanted it to be orignal which i can understand but now we are in a generation of consoles where movie playing ability is important even the new psp can play movies on a umd disc with the nitenodo revolution being realesed this year i really think they mustput more quality non nitendo made games platformed for the console and i would also like to point out that if it was not for resisdent evil and multi platform games this would have losts millions

is obviously not very clever when it comes to games!! If the Nintendo games released werent that good the console wouldve been long gone, but its not and mario sunshine got a game award and best game when it was released and is A BIG game, so that shows the person reviewing it is just picking on the console because he or shes got no clue about consoles! Yes I am a Nintendo fan always have been, but I am of Sony Playstation too, but I love all consoles but the fact is I hate people picking faults with Nintendo when they have done very well, maybe not what they would of wanted with HOMEconsoles with the gamecube but it still has sold very well and IS the 2nd fav console out of the 3 with xbox in 3rd!!!

Please dont let this guy put you off, it is a top console and is very underrated!!!
