Philips Azur Premium GC4340 Steam Iron with Auto Shut Off - 2400W

I purchased this iron from amazon back in June 2006.

The basics of why I think this iron is a great product are:-

1) the autoshut off feature - no more panicking after having left the house as to whether you've left the iron on!
2) the light indicator which indicates when the iron is switched on, or on autoshut off
3) good water capacity
4) Longer-than-usual lead length
5) Last but not least, performance in terms of getting creases out of clothes is superb.

It is a well-designed, non-stress inducing appliance. When my current iron breaks down due to old age I won't bother investigating other irons for purchase - I'll be buying another of these assuming still available.
