 Rating:  - Don't use the recipe's ......................good at Chips onlyWorked fine with chips , then I tried one of the recipe's. Due to the cumbersome design of the blade fitting on the central spindle , leaving one in doubt as to whether it was attached correctly , the sauce oveflowed and burnt out the heating unit. I would not buy another and I think the design needs some serious rethinking, for Tefal this is a very poor product. Ok for chips , no good for the recipe's provided. Rating:  - tefal actifryabsolutely brilliant machine, my father bought one, aswell as myself, and i have been losing weight since buying it! everything that comes out is tasty, and low fat, ive done all sorts, from chicken portions, chips and casserole, there is no boundaries, i adore this machine, and it cooks food well and very quickly...fantastic!!! Rating: - Tefal ActiFry a little gem.......I purchased my ActiFry from Costco for about £103 and I still thought that was expensive for what it is. Although this fryer is good I don't think I could justify paying £150 for it. I always use olive oil for everything and this fryer is no exception. It makes great chips, really tasty and that's without any seasoning...going to try nut oil next time! It's so easy to use and only two parts need to be removed for cleaning purposes and these are dishwasher safe. It's quite large so you will need to find a good size drawer or shelf for this fryer although it's not heavy which is a bonus. One thing to be aware of... in the middle of making chips I also threw in some scampi pieces and when the fryer had finished some of the bread crumbs ... Read More: Rating: - Really good.I really like this. I don't find it particularly bulky, in fact it is less bulky than some deep fryers and definitely easier to keep clean. Looks much nicer on your counter top! I used frozen chips in it for it's first use, they turned out really well. There was some breakage of the chips as the paddle turned round, but this gave crispy edges to the finished product so no real complaint there. My only negative comment here is that it does not seem very resilient, ie the plastic lid and some ohter bits seem a little cheap and brittle. My ham-fisted husband will need careful instruction on how to treat it :) Other than that, I am very pleased with it and I am looking forward to trying other foods in there. I have turned into a chef since it arrived. No problems to work, clean or store it. the food tastes gr8 and i have tried loads of new stuff (recipe book) and loved it all. If you can afford it buy it. |
