I've had this game for just over a week, and have found it extremely fun to play.
Unfortunately I haven't played any of the PC Age of Empire games (yet), so I can't make any first-person comparisons.

Age of Empires for DS has one flaw that, if you are unaware of it beforehand, can be very annoying.
For some reason, if your profile name is less than four characters (i.e. "Bob" or "San"), on starting up the game the next time you want to play, you get a blank screen.
To avoid this, you can change your name in your DS profile, or else change it in the game.

Other than that problem, which hasn't come up again for me (I exchanged the first copy), the game is great! It's an excellent choice for somebody ... Read More:

I love this game. I have played it many times and i have not played it the same way twice. Which i love games like that. If you enjoy playing a game that it is hard to play the same way twice, this is for you. however, the only problem with this game is it isnt very interactive. You sail around and during boat fights-its interactive, but during person to person, it isnt. But this game has a great plot and I am very happy that i bought a copy.:) There is so much you can do in this game. I think i may go play it now.

After watching too many bad sci-fi movies, developers at THQ created DESTROY ALL HUMANS, an XBox game that puts a unique spin on the alien invasion story: instead of playing as the savior of mankind, players take on the role of Crypto Sporidium 137, an alien invader, and attack earth, aiming to literally destroy all humans and claim the planet in the name of the Furon race.

Ah, the game the temporarily destroyed the Twisted Metal franchise... Don't buy this game. Any of the other Twisted Metals are far, far, far, far, far better games! Go with one of them.

The graphics and 3D style of play are the best of any gameboy game! The puzzles are incredible, the storyline and characters are amazing, and the best part? You can start a new game after you beat the game, but you'll be able to keep your coins, magic, and power stats that you achieved in the game before and they'll continue to get stronger from there! You'll be playing long after the sun sets!
