I got this system last year and it worked fine until a month ago. then the sound blew out. Also the graphics on many games suck. Still it's a hardy system and I would recommend buying it if you like a classic look in color, but if you want something with good graphics, nice small comfortable size, and a motherload of great games, buy an NGCP(neogeo pocket color).

Well, I was skeptical because of a review of a larger gaming website which I typically consult before any purchase. The game was rated good, stressing out the weak graphics of the Gamecube implementation though. But I can hardly resist RPGs and action adventures so it had to be, especially since it's out there for a mere $10 these days. Played it over the weekend, past the credits I'm still wondering what was wrong with the games presentation. Graphics are awesome, detailed, great character animation, pure delight for the eye. Occasional frame rate issues are really minor compared to what else it out there, seen a lot worse. Only thing to get used to is the viewing angle, reminding a bit of the GBA games, high up above, but adding to the appeal. Anyway, ... Read More:
This was the first "Mario" game for the Game Boy, and I had fun playing it. It had some good points and some bad points, so I'll list the good points first.
The game is a typical "Mario" game, where you have to play through 4 worlds of 3 levels each, avoiding enemies and fighting a boss at the end of each world. You start the game with 3 lives, and you get an extra life whenever you collect 100 coins. You can also get a chance to continue when you've lost all your lives, but I'm not sure how.
As for the bad points, there is no save feature, the graphics are terrible, and for some weird reason the screen won't scroll left. I suppose these are just because the Game Boy is a very old system, but they are bad points nonetheless.

1. If all you have is a gameboy pocket (available from amazon) this is one of the best games you can own. Even on gameboy color, this game is a great adition. I own a GBA SP and yet im still gonna buy blue, yellow, and silver. I was gonna get red, but when yellow finnally became availiable, red went out of stock. Now im getting blue because i dont have a game from that set, and silver to complete that set. But back to the point. The reason i like yellow is not because of the graphics or the sound effects, but i like that he follows you around and enables you to get all 3 starter pokemon too! wow 4/6ths of your team already. Sure, you cant trade to any of the newest versions, but if you trade with g/s and r/b you can get some great teams. So buy it if you ... Read More:

One thing I absolutely despise about alot of Gameboy games, anymore, is how you have to buy them in twos just to be able to finish them. Such is the case with Legend of Zelda:Oracle of Ages & Oracle Seasons. Originally planned as a trilogy, this two-part adventure is exceptionally good which is why I highly recommend that you add them to your collection. It all begins in Oracle of Ages. Veran(The Sorceress of Shadows) kidnaps Nayru(The Oracle of Ages). Because Link feels directly responsible for her kidnapping(as you find out while playing the game), he sets out to find her and save her. With the Harp of Ages, he travels between the past and present meeting familiar faces (some of which you'll recognize from Ocarina of Time)in his effort to make things ... Read More:
Pokemon 2 (Gold and Silver versions.) The second installment in the Game Boy Pokemon RPG series.
Nintendo's Pokemon franchise became a massive success in its native Japan relatively quickly. Although it took the franchise a little longer to catch on in America, it finally did catch on, and when it did, it took the nation by storm. Pokemon games and products sold like crazy, despite the fact that the franchise was virtually unrecognized in America at its time of release. Finally in the late summer/early fall of 2000, the second games in the series got an American release. How does Pokemon 2 measure up? Read on for my review.
