All grown men have a little boy in their heart that still surfaces every now and again...some fellows more so than others, and it's always so much fun to go back. That is one of the many reasons I enjoy having a son waiting to greet me when I come home from a day of work or a long business trip. On the flip side, Quentin Tarantino gets to go back to being a boy every time he goes to work, and I say good for him.

The Kill Bill movies are a potent effusion of likely all the things Quentin grew up with. Westerns, Kung-Fu movies, Samurai movies and other action films that helped mold and create his robust imagination. We saw a regular version of this on a friend's rear view projection screen and it was spectacular. We had recently bought a 1080p Panasonic flat screen and blu-ray player and thought that PLanet Earth Blu-ray version might be a great first video to see on this format. We were simply blown away! The details, sharpness, range of colour and most incredible views of this marvelous planet jump out, along with a super sound track, to make this a breath-taking visual experience. The advances of high definition combined with the most mind boggling photography make Planet Earth one's top choice in the video library. Truly a visual delight!

Since most of us are very familiar with this film I figure we are just interested in the technical specifications to make sure it's worth spending the cash on. This is a bare bones release no extras and not the directors cut. The packaging and amazon description says the audio is just DTS but in actuality it is DTS-HD MA!

I live in the USA shipping just took 6 days with the cheapest shipping method. Very impressed with amazon.ca .

Living up to its hype, Nolan delivers a dark knight that's the closest so far to Frank Miller's 1980s re-imagining of the caped crusader. It also incorporates elements of more recent noir style Batman graphic novels such as the Long Halloween and Dark Victory, with their mixing together of super-villains and mafia gangsters. Nolan's Batman is darker than Burton's 1989 version and lives in a very real looking Gotham City, a far cry from the fantastic art deco monstrosities of the earlier film. Adding to its realism is Nolan's restraint with the use of special effects, with those included merging very nicely with live action shots. I won't comment on the quality of the show, besides that it's great. I assume if you are buying this season 4 DVD set, or are thinking about it, then you've seen all previous seasons and enjoy the show thus far.

I picked up this DVD set at a store that was selling it early, so I'm able to comment on its contents first hand.

For those who are new to the show, or are trying to catch up, this season 4.0 box set only contains the first 10 episodes of season 4 (which make up the first half of the season (the second half will commence January 16th, 2009.)) Batman Begins was a phenomenal movie. Dark Knight was okay, but there was far too much unnecessary and implied 'disgusting' violence. It's unfortunate that directors feel the need for this type of extreme violence. Probably means their show wouldn't succeed without it. PG13 is certainly not an appropriate rating.

Ok...I love ABBA...I loved the show but this movie is such a let down for me. Merly Streep was ok in the movie but really only the girl who plays Sophie could sing...the rest ESPECIALLY Pierce Brosnan, I mean oh my god, he Cannot sing, so why was he in a musical? alright so maybe he is in because of his name, but Sophie's boyfriend, was not good looking and couldnt sing and he is not known...makes no sense. The movie was like a better staged version of the play, I wish they made more use of scenery and had better dance moves...it was fun for a while but towards the end, I was skipping the dvd forward...
Skip it and get an ABBA CD instead
