I agree with all remarks of amazingness on this game. The only problem I had with it is the camera is terrible for co-op play. Seriously. This was fixed up for the PS2 version; why not for the Gamecube? All they had to do was not include zoom, but as is, even with multiple players, the camera zooms into player 1, making all other players off screen which is no fun. They "learned" to play off screen, but really, they shouldn't have had to.
Other than that, best game on the gamecube (but I've not played Zelda yet).

I'll admit that the anime style of animation is a strong pet peeve of mine. The mouth movements never fit the dialect, the movements often seem choppy and sudden and the characters seem to be able to achieve many unrealistic things that most Disney characters would be faulted for. And yet, even after admitting my bias I can say that Tales of Symphonia overcame all of that.
I boycotted the game for the longest time simply because of the anime style used in game, and now I regret that I could have experienced this earlier. The plot is incredible not because of its uniqueness per se, but because it evolves as you play. Your friends will become your enemies, and vice versa, and almost every character introduced - even a couple very ... Read More:

Did you ever find a game where there are 8 different stories? as told on many sites, you can choose which character you'd like to be most friend with by answering to some questions now and then, and it will trigger 3 events, where the character YOU chose will be speaking his mind about you (Lloyd), about the quest, etc.... AND ALL VOICED!! ISn't that amazing? i found it so touching....
Fights, goes up to 9.9/10, sometime the camera is tricky for the 2nd player (yea, you can play up to 4 characters in the fights!!), but if you put semi auto, it should be allright!
sound, 8/10, the songs are cute, but nothing you never heard before.
character emotions... 11/10
storyline : 10/10 A beautiful story.. ... Read More:

Every century, a game comes out that is so fun you don't think it can be real. This century's game is Tales of Symphonia. It is so fun because it has fighting, magic, puzzles and traveling. It has 127 save files and only takes 3 memory card blocks per file. It is so long it had be formatted onto a second disc. It sorts of reminds me of Golden Sun. It's plot/story 10/10, characters 10/10, realism 10/10, graphics 10/10. And to top it all off, it's a player's choice. Tales of symphonia is The Game.

This game is by far one of the best I have ever played. It's right up there with Final Fantasy VII and Chrono Trigger. The gamecube does not have many RPGs, and I think ToS is a refreshing wind for any RPer who ownes a gamecube. Some people might say that the graphics are annoying, but it is entirely up to the user and their preference of artist style. And for those who say that this game has an 'Unoriginal' plot line, you have NO imagination! The voice acting is great, and the OST (Original Sound Track) is amazing. Characters in this game are amazingly detailed and every single one is unique. The side-quests are amusing and fun as well!
Tales of Symphonia is, overall, one of the better and BEST games out there for the gamecube.
